Why CAGE Code Licensing Verification Matters

DLA protects the defense supply chain.
But today, supplier licensing is based on self-certification — businesses can claim they are properly licensed even when they are not.

This creates avoidable risk in:

Contract Eligibility

Supplier legitimacy

Taxpayer protections

Mission readiness

License Authority provides automated, jurisdiction-level verification that confirms suppliers are legally authorized to operate anywhere they claim.

Zero Financial Obligation for DLA

No licensing fees

No per-lookup costs

No integration charges

No maintenance fees

No staffing required

Who Pays

All costs are deferred to the applicant, not DLA.

Applicants Can:

Check compliance for free

If missing licenses: they pay to obtain them

If they want assistance: they pay for LA’s help

Once fully compliant: they receive a verification symbol accepted by DLA

This ensures the government never incurs costs, and suppliers shoulder the responsibility for proving legitimacy.

How the Pilot Works

1

Technical Briefing

We walk DLA reviewers and IT stakeholders through the verification workflow.

2

Define Pilot Scope

Identify high-volume supplier groups, categories, and success metrics.

3

Execute No-Cost Agreement

DLA signs a no-cost license agreement (or bailment agreement) authorizing License Authority as the verification standard.

4

Launch the 60–90 Day Pilot

Verification is added to the existing CAGE review workflow.

5

Evaluate Outcomes

Review accuracy, workflow impact, and fraud reduction.
